Unfortunately, the biggest news on my mind right now is news of sadness, heartbreak and outrage. My heart goes out to the victims of hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast of the U.S. Not only are they victims of natural disaster, but blatant social disaster, for which there is NO excuse. Once again, in-your-face proof of overt racism and classism is undeniable. To all my fans and friends from other countries: now you see what we're up against in this country. The majority of American citizens are negatively affected by the U.S. Government MOST of the time. We've been told the U.S. is occupying a foreign country to protect American people, yet here are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of American people who need help right here, right now who have become refugees overnight and completely neglected because they are poor and black. Accused by the head of Home Security Michael Chertoff of "ignoring evacuation orders". How is it possible that someone in charge of protecting American people can actually believe that the majority of the people in New Orleans CHOSE to ignore the evacuation order? These people have NO money, NO cars, NO place to go and were offered NO public assistance or transportation to escape.

This level of ignorance is devastating and my heart is broken.

I ask all of you to help however you can ( I suggest: www.redcross.org). Even if it's as simple as letting your voice be heard. This is an outrage and we can't let it slip off into the past, unexplained, unanswered and undone. The U.S. government needs to help ALL of these people get some semblance of their lives back in order, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

I could go on, but I'll spare you. Wake up.
